Our highly experienced hygienists do comprehensive cleanings as well as deep cleanings for dental hygiene and combatting gum disease. They employ sophisticated, delicate procedures to make cleanings easier on the patient while still removing calculus from difficult-to-reach areas. After the cleaning, we employ specific polishers to give your teeth a shinier, whiter appearance.

Our hygienists have all worked for us for a long time. Our patients see the same hygienist every time they visit, allowing them the opportunity to build a positive relationship and treatment history.

Patient Dental Hygiene Orientation

Cleanings and treatment for gum disease are critical to have a basic grasp of oral health and how gum disease develop. Our hygienists educate patients utilizing intraoral cameras and digital photographs, allowing patients to understand where they are succeeding and failing in their oral care. Our hygienists will teach patients how to properly care for their teeth and gums.

We sell enormous tooth models and brushes for your children.

Treatment for Gum Disease for Better Dental Hygiene

What Exactly is Gum Disease?

Cleanings and treatment for gum disease Gum disease develops when hardened bacteria in the form of calculus, or tartar, accumulates around the roots of the teeth, causing the gums to detach from the teeth and allowing more bacteria to accumulate in the created pockets. The pockets enlarge as the condition proceeds, and the gums might become irritated and swollen. Gingivitis is the early stage of gum disease.

As the gum disease continues, the bacteria-caused inflammation destroys the surrounding bone and ligaments, eventually leading to tooth loss.

Our Treatment for Gum Disease

The best line of defense against gum disease is still thorough, deep cleaning. To release the calculus (tartar), we employ ultrasonic scalers, and fine hand instruments to remove the calculus and polish the root surface.

Scaling and root planing are other terms for deep cleaning. Our hygienist removes plaque (a sticky film of bacteria) and calculus, which is hardened plaque, during scaling. In cleanings, scaling is done above the gum line, whereas thorough cleanings are done below the gum line. Root planing is used to smooth rough regions and remove leftover calculus. The smooth surface facilitates gum reattachment to the root and prevents plaque buildup.

Arestin® antibiotic treatment, a timed-release antibiotic program employing capsules put in the gum pockets, is used to destroy any lingering bacteria.

Treatment for Severe Gum Disease

We have helped many patients get their severe gum disease under control and keep their teeth by providing thorough deep cleanings and patient education. When severe gum disease does not respond to our therapy, we collaborate with an experienced partner periodontist, a gum disease specialist.
